Privacy Policy
Effective October 14, 2026
SEA (Sarasota Events & Activities) is an app being built by a family in Sarasota, Florida. This policy covers this website and its launch waitlist. The app will have its own privacy policy when it launches. We've kept this short and in plain English.
What we collect
- Your email address, if you join the waitlist. We store it with the time you joined, your yes to being emailed about the launch, and the website or ad that linked you here (if there was one, including any campaign tags in the link), so we know which links are working.
- Page visits. Each time the page loads, we count a visit along with the website that linked you here. We don't record your name.
- Ad measurement (Meta Pixel). This site uses the Meta Pixel from Facebook and Instagram. It sets cookies and sends Meta basic information about your visit, such as the page you viewed, your browser and device, and whether you joined the waitlist. We use it to measure how our ads perform and to show our ads to people who may be interested. It does not receive your email address from us.
- Spam protection. To stop bots from flooding the waitlist or the visit count, we keep a scrambled (hashed) form of your IP address for up to 24 hours, then delete it automatically.
- Your pause setting. If you pause the animations, your browser remembers that choice on your own device. It is never sent to us.
How we use it
We use your email address to tell you when SEA launches, and to reply if you write to us. We don't sell or rent your information, and we don't give your email address to advertisers. The ad-measurement information described above is used to measure and improve our ads on Facebook and Instagram.
Services that handle it for us
A few companies help us run this site. They handle your information only to provide their service to us:
- Vercel hosts the website. Like any web host, it keeps short-lived technical logs (such as IP addresses) to deliver the site and keep it secure.
- Supabase stores the waitlist and the visit count.
- Meta (Facebook and Instagram) receives the ad-measurement information from the Meta Pixel. Its use of that information is covered by Meta's privacy policy. You can opt out of ad personalization in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings, or by blocking cookies in your browser.
- An email service will send the launch announcement. It receives only the email addresses it sends to.
The site's fonts and images are served from our own website, so loading this page doesn't contact Google. It does contact Meta, as described above. The Instagram, TikTok and Facebook links take you to those companies' sites, where their own privacy policies apply.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you ask us to remove it, or until we no longer need it for the waitlist. Hashed IP addresses are deleted within 24 hours.
Your choices
You can ask us to remove your email address, or to tell you what we have stored about you, at any time. Email support@sarasotaevents.com and we'll take care of it within 30 days. Every email we send will also include a way to unsubscribe.
Children
This website is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their information. If you believe a child under 13 has joined the waitlist, email us and we'll delete it.
Keeping it safe
The waitlist is stored with access restricted to our team. The public website can add a signup and read the total count, but it can't read anyone's email address.
Changes to this policy
If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page. If a change affects how we use your email address, we'll tell you before it takes effect.
